The Westwood School is a dream project of two brothers, Mr Rahul Dangar and Mr Bharat Dangar. There is no better way to pay back to the society than providing education which would make better human beings and be the engine of growth of tomorrow. It is for this very reason that they forayed into education. The school was visualised in the year 2008. During the incubation period, calculated measures were taken, progressively and steadily, to be guided by the right people and to ensure that a stride at a time, this dream becomes a tangible reality.
The School was inaugurated in April 24th, 2017 with strength of 80 students. With unswerving planning and efforts, the school has been steadily growing in strength and also has won many accolades for its work with the students.
The entire purpose of education is to provide holistic education for our children in academics, co-curricular activities, sports education, life-skills learning, values and making leaders of tomorrow. Our endeavour is to provide world class education, facilities, and set a bench mark in learning outcomes.
The campus, sports and academic facilities all bear testimony to this effort. We have realized that the future is abstract and unknown but the youth in our hands are real and can be moulded. The words by Franklin D. Roosevelt "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." perfectly describes our aim at the Westwood school.
Every child should be able to interpret, analyse their learning outcome with ability to think critically, to solve not just what’s in the text books but also be able to apply what has been taught in class to real world challenges and problems with innovative solution to problems. In short knowing and doing.
The School was selected as one of the Top Schools of India in 2019 by Great Places To Study and we were privileged to receive this recognition at the House Of Commons(UK Parliament) in London. We also received The Gurukul Award for Best School for Activity Based Teaching.
We are cognizant that ours are but baby steps and we have miles to go before we can claim any form of renown. Since at Westwood we believe “Success is not how high you have climbed, but how you make a positive difference to the world.” The seeds of an idea has been sown, and seed has turn into a strong sapling waiting to grow tall and wide to bear the fruits for generations to come.
