MENTOR'S MESSAGE

Parents,

I am inspired by the possibilities that exist for our school this year and in the years to come. Whether you are new to Westwood School or have been a part of our community for some time, please accept my invitation to participate with us, as we prepare our students for the future. The school's management, excellent faculty, dedicated support staff and our esteemed parents should align together to support us in achieving the school’s vision. Our mission is simple yet holds the key to build the future of the country - Westwood will work towards Physical, Intellectual, Social, Emotional and Moral growth of all children.

At Westwood we ensure that the academic requirements of all students are fulfilled and that they would not need any external assistance or tutoring. To add to this, instead of regular classrooms the school has designed subject rooms that help students to access pertinent resources at one place fostering a sense of inquisitiveness, persuasiveness, and innovation, thus ensuring your child remains lively, open to learning and gains immensely from the overall learning environment.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Westwood School community where we are profoundly dedicated and ensure that each and every student receives consistent attention and academic support from our team of educators.

Best regards,
DR. M.P. CHHAYA

DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

A very warm welcome to The Westwood School.

"Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us, there is a private hope and dream which fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation" - Plato.

At The Westwood School our mission is to provide an outstanding education and inspire our students to engage in both academic and enriching extra-curricular programmes. Our curriculum develops student learning and understanding, a culture of thinking, inquiry and reflection, resilience and independence, always focused upon developing the whole child and tomorrow’s citizens.

We initiated the Westwood School, with the vision to provide an excellent opportunity to the students and parents looking for holistic development. We have created an infrastructure that provides one of the best environments for learning and education. We believe education is not limited to the four walls of the classrooms and therefore freedom to explore and integrate, are provided as long as the learning objectives/outcomes are achieved. We want our children to have a spark in life and therefore we constantly look for people who are experts in the field to interact, share, exchange ideas and mentor them so that they can reach the next level.

In this current times of ever growing competitiveness, education has to remain in the fore-front to enable us to march forward & take our rightful place in the society. We at Westwood, will remain committed to providing our students with good teaching faculty, infrastructure, amenities, and resources so that they get the best exposure to face the challenges of life head on.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand. “ - Albert Einstein

Our imagination sees no limits. We intend to keep learning, keep growing and keep moving ahead to be able to provide what is best for all the stake holders (students, teachers, parents and all others involved) of the Westwood School.

DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

There is no better way to pay back to the society than by providing education, which would create better human beings and make them engines of growth for tomorrow. It is for this very reason that we forayed into education.

The entire purpose of education is to provide holistic education for your child, encompassing – academics, co-curricular activities, sports education, life-skills learning, values and creating leaders of tomorrow. Our endeavour is to provide world class education facilities, and set bench mark in learning outcomes. The campus, sports and academic facilities all bear testimony to this effort.

We have realized that the future is abstract and unknown but the youth in our hands are real and can be moulded. The words by Franklin D. Roosevelt "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." perfectly describes our aim at The Westwood School. Every child should be able to interpret, analyse their learning outcome, with the ability to think critically, to solve not just what’s in the text books, but also be able to apply what has been taught in class to real world challenges and problems with innovative solution to problems. In short knowing and doing.

In order to impart quality education, we have given equal importance to the software ‘our teachers’ who have been provided continuous teacher training by renowned educationists and trainers, in order to deliver real value education and excellence in academics. Teachers are trained not only to teach well but are also expected to inspire confidence and trust in their students and become role models. The School encourages students to learn about themselves and their constantly changing environment, while at the same time offering support and guidance as they practice decision-making and social skills.

To end my note, I would like to share a quote by Anthony de Mello "There are two educations, One that teaches how to make a living and the other how to live." So at The Westwood School, we do not simply teach students how to make a living instead; we prepare them for how to live.

The seeds of an idea have been sown, and seed has turned into a strong sapling, waiting to grow tall and wide to bear fruits for generations to come.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Education in India needs to foster Competence, Creativity and Reflection, so that students can be transformed into Agents of Social Change. This has a double pronged effect. It makes the students better people and through them, it will make our world a better place.

Hence at Westwood, we focus on Right Attitude, Knowledge and Values so that our students turn out to be responsible and conscientious adults. To achieve this objective we have the following salient features:

  • We have a young, dynamic, Management Team who are highly future oriented and with a great vision for the School’s progress and are willing to take all measures to achieve their targets.
  • We have a good and dedicated Teaching Faculty who are ready to multi task and offer their best to the students. They are open to experimenting with the latest in teaching-learning and varied pedagogical practices.
  • We have a great vision of creating an institution catering to the rapidly evolving learners’ needs; hence plenty of innovative ideas are applied to the school, such as creating an educational museum, using apple technology in class, providing a state of the art music lab and an invigorating and stimulating library, applying the subject room concept and so on.
  • All students have to participate in the major programmes of the school. No student is left behind for lack of skill or interest. All major programmes are multi skill oriented hence providing a platform to students with different skills. Programmes also focus on themes that are value based hence while they are entertaining they are also informative and enriching.

At Westwood no effort is spared to prepare students for lifelong success and personal fulfillment. We are confident, that considering our aim and objectives, as well as our strengths, we are able to contribute our very best, to our students and to the society at large.
